Mercer appoints Andrew McKechnie as Head of Workforce Solutions for New Zealand

Mercer has announced the appointment of Andrew McKechnie in the newly created role of Head of Workforce Solutions, New Zealand. Mr McKechnie is responsible for helping New Zealand organisations unlock the full potential of their workforce through Mercer’s creative workforce solutions and data-driven strategies, and will support the firm’s strong growth agenda in New Zealand.

With more than 20 years’ experience in human resources and commercial management roles, Mr McKechnie brings extensive knowledge from his work with some of New Zealand’s leading corporations. He joins Mercer from Fonterra, where he was most recently Senior HR Business Partner for Africa, the Middle East, North Asia and the Americas. Prior to this, he was Fonterra’s Senior HR Business Partner for New Zealand, and has significant expertise in strategic organisational design, rewards and remuneration and employee experience.

Mr McKechnie said he was looking forward to harnessing Mercer’s local and global expertise to support New Zealand employers in addressing some of their biggest workforce challenges and opportunities.
