Investing in (and for) Our Future is a paper produced by the World Economic Forum in conjunction with Mercer. Currently, employee retirement plans have left individuals increasingly responsible for their own retirement, and this can become problematic given retirees in six major economies should expect to outlive their savings by eight to nearly 20 years on average.
This paper - the third in a series of research for the World Economic Forum’s Global Retirement Investment Systems Reform initiative – aims to provide guidance for plan sponsors in managing their retirement portfolios, helping them better understand their options. We discuss opportunities for reforms that can be adopted to improve the likelihood of our retirement systems sustainably supporting future generations.
